Terms
These terms apply when you use Leaf Exchange (www.leafexchange.org), run by Northrule Ltd (company 13479194, 9 Conifer Close, Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire, GU52 6LR). Contact: hello@leafexchange.org.
What Leaf Exchange is
Leaf Exchange is a directory. It lets home and allotment growers say what they have, and lets people nearby ask to reserve it. We aren't a shop and we aren't part of any sale or swap. The agreement is between the grower and the person collecting. We don't handle money, deliver anything, or check produce.
Reservations
- A reservation is a request. It only stands once the grower confirms it.
- When a grower confirms, we email you their collection details and share both your email addresses so you can arrange collection.
- Pay the grower directly when you collect, in whatever way you agree. Leaf Exchange never asks you for payment.
- Crops fail and plans change. A grower can decline or withdraw a reservation. If you paid anything in advance (we suggest you don't), the grower should refund it in full.
- You can cancel your own reservation at any time before collection. Please do it as early as you can.
- Fresh produce isn't covered by the 14-day cancellation right for distance purchases, so check what you're collecting when you collect it.
If you list produce
- You must have grown it yourself, and it must be safe to eat (or, for flowers, as described).
- Raw fruit, vegetables, herbs and cut flowers only. No processed food (jams, cakes, juices), eggs, honey, meat, plants or seedlings.
- Describe things honestly. Don't call produce "organic" unless you're certified by a UK organic control body (it's a legally protected word). See the grower guidelines.
- Only use the selling units the site offers. They follow UK weights and measures rules.
- If you grow on an allotment, you're responsible for keeping to your tenancy agreement.
- You're responsible for any tax or registration that applies to you. See the selling guide.
Everyone
- Be kind and turn up when you say you will.
- Don't use Leaf Exchange to send spam, harass anyone or sell anything other than home-grown produce.
- We can remove listings, photos or accounts that break these terms, or that we're told are unsafe or misleading. Tell us about anything that looks wrong.
Our responsibility
We work to keep the site running and safe, but we can't guarantee any grower, produce or collection. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses arising from arrangements between growers and buyers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. We may update them; the date below shows when they last changed.
